Bibby Scientific SMP20 Melting Point Apparatus
Bibby Scientific are proud to announce the launch of a new digital melting point, the SMP20, which sets a new bench mark by offering 0.1°C temperature resolution and an adjustable ramp rate in a cost-effective instrument.
The new SMP20 has been designed on the successful platform of the SMP10 with added functionality such as a variable ramp rate, hold button and a greater degree of accuracy. With a choice of 1 or 0.1 degree resolution the user can record more accurate results. The four digit LED display enables temperatures to 0.1°C to be recorded for more accurate results. The hold button has been added to facilitate temperature recording as it enables the user to freeze the display at the melting point while the block temperature continues to rise.
The SMP20 also provides the ability to program the ramp rate anywhere within the range of 1°C to 10°C per minute. The unit heats up quickly and remains at the selected plateau temperature until the user is ready to start the test. Two samples can be test simultaneously and these are viewed via a magnifying lens aided by built-in illumination. Extendible back feet allow operation at the optimum viewing angle and the unit's design gives full access to the block for easier cleaning.
For maximum ease of use the SMP20's simple-to-follow instructions are printed directly on the instrument in English, French, Italian, Spanish and German. As you have come to expect from the Bibby Scientific equipment range the SMP20 comes with BioCote antimicrobial protection. Bibby Scientific will continue to offer the SMP10 along side the new SMP20.
