SCF Gold Melting Crucible Furnace |
Construction: The furnace case is constructed from rolled hollow steel section panelled with zinc coated sheet finished with a hard wearing stoved epoxy polyester powder coating. This outer case is built around a silicon carbide inner chamber which is surrounded by refractory brickwork. The top surface is also made of bricks and is protected by a steel plate. The furnace lid is fixed to the main body of the furnace by a four bar hinge mechanism. Heating elements: Silicon carbide heating elements are positioned on four sides of the furnace chamber. Insulation: Robust refractory brickwork of graded construction is used throughout to ensure minimal heat losses whilst still ensuring strength of construction. Controls: The temperature
is regulated by a three term microprocessor based controller which provides
temperature stability of +/-1°C. A back up two term overtemperature
controller protects the heating elements. |
