The aspect of increased working duration has been the key idea behind the range of 3M Scott Safety 379 Bar Cylinders. The cylinders are of a similar weight and size in comparison with the SCBA unit's 300 bar cylinders.

A significant increase in the duration of the cylinder has been achieved with a choice of 5.7 litre, 7.6 litre or 9.5 litre capacity.

A user's burden can be alternatively be reduced, with the new range of 379 bar cylinders as it permits the user to select a lighter cylinder with a lower profile which helps the user whilst maintaining their current operational duration.
