Robust construction and high heat resistant materials ensures reliable, long term operation in demanding fire ground use cases. Intelligent power management features, including breath detection and auto gain control, provides up to 50 hours of operation using three standard Alkaline batteries, simplifying battery management logistics while lowering battery replacement costs.

Easy to use Windows PC and iPhone based EPIC 3 programming utilities provide easy device confi guration adjustments using audio tones played into the device microphone. This allows the voice amplifier to be configured for use with different Scott Safety face piece types, Alkaline or rechargeable NiMH batteries, volume control adjustments, and other device settings to meet specifi c customer requirements. The EPIC 3 Voice Amplifi er meets NFPA 1981 2002, 2007, and 2013 Edition standards for SCBA communications. ATEX/IECEX certifi cations include Ex ia IIB T3 Ga IP66/67 and complies with IEC standards IEC 60079-0: 2007-10 Edition 5; and IEC 60079-11: 2011 Edition 6.0.
