The Visibility Sensor by LSI LASTEM helps to measure a range of nearly 2 km. The visibility sensor, code DPA305, is designed to determine the haze and fog in tunnels and on roads. With both the analogue and digital outputs and relay for external equipment switching, the sensor may be integrated with the intelligent transport system and also used to switch the warning sign automatically while changes takes place in the visibility conditions.

The Visibility Sensor is unique and is available only in the DPA305 model. The visibility follows the forward scattered meters with an angle of 45 degrees. The measuring range of the visibility is less than 10m - 2 km of visibility. Then the uncertainty is less than or equal to 10 percentage and the output as 4-20 mA. The N.3 switching relays involved in the visibility sensor are visibility threshold, fault and no/yes precipitation or the second visibility threshold. The power supply of the sensor is 9-36 Vdc and the operative temperature is - 30 to + 50 degrees C. The power consumption by the LSI LASTEM visibility sensor model is 6W in the normal operation when the heater of no dew is On and 2,5 W when the heater of no dew is off.
