Bibby Scientific HC1 Heating Cords
Surface Loading: 4W per metre2 (26W per inch2).
Linear Loading: 195 W per cm (60 W per foot).
Voltages: 115 or 230 volts.
Construction: The heater consists of a nickel/chromeheating element wound on an inorganic core and has 122 cm. Insulated unheated flexible lead at each end of the heating section. The whole, including the unheated leads, are covered with a tough external sheath of braided glass fibre.
Applications: The versatility of this heater can be judged from the fact that the 61 cm (24in) length (HC102) when closed coiled round 25mm (1in) tubing gives a wattage concentration of 4 W/cm2 (26 W/in2). Alternatively, it can be traced or spiralled round the tubing at any predetermined open pitch to give the required energy input. Where processes require observation, this heater, used in conjunction with transparent tubing, will provide the ideal solution.
